Selecting alarm stages
The majority of the E2S range of alarm sounders (and some multi-function beacons) have 2, 3 or 4 ‘alarm stages’. Below is a brief explanation of how the different stages are activated.
AC units
Stage 1 – Apply power only
Stage 2 – Apply power and close contacts at ‘S2-Stage2’
Stage 3 – Apply power and close contacts at ‘S3-Stage3’
Stage 4 – (Programmable units ONLY) Apply power and close both contacts
Important: Stages must be switched via the separate ‘C’ common terminal not the neutral supply.

DC units:
Stage 1 – Apply power only
Stage 2 – Apply power and close contacts at ‘S2-Stage2’
Stage 3 – Apply power and close contacts at ‘S3-Stage3’
Stage 4 – (Programmable units ONLY) Apply power and close both contacts
